Murphy, who. with the Comptroller of Customs. Mr E. Abbott, is making trade inquiries in the United States before going to London, said that while in the United States he had made a thorough study of the Australian position in regard to the World Fair to be hexd in New York next year. Australia mil obtained the greater portion of her 10,000 feet of covered space on the ground level, which was a distinct advantage. She hid been given an exceptionally advantageous position on the lagoon beside which many thousands of \isitors must pass and her neighbours were all vtiy prominent nations. It had not yet been decided whether Australia would share in the special United Kingdom pavilion. The Australian exhibition would be handled by a special committee operating In Australia, and a special Australian representative would probably be sent to the Fair. Australia’s site unquestionably merited the finest display, and she would have an unexcelled opportunity to present to the world the riches of her production and ingenuity-
