QUEEN CARNIVAL
ATHLETIO CLUBS SOUTH AUCKLAND PROJECT A very ambitious scheme with queen carnivals being conducted In ten towns In the South Auckland area tft the same time has been approved •by the Waikato Sub-centre of the Jsew Zealand Amateur Athletic As- - •©latlon In an endeavour to raise funds io place all athletic clubs in the area on a sound financial footing. The towns In which the queen carjiivals will be held* are those which Xoster athletic clubs and already arrangements are In train in Hamilton, Te Awamutu, Thames, Rotorua, Matamata, Tauf fnaranui, and Te Kuiti. Each town J fcdU have several queens representing organisations and the queen that polls the most votes throughout the whole area will be Miss South ptaokland. The Hamilton organisation has already had several meetings and it has podded to have six queens, representing athletics, ba-sketball, football, business, Frankton and ScotchpeopleAa *oon as the queens have been definitely settled the carnival will > commence and It will continue for ! to six weeks.
