LORRY DRIVER FINED SHOPKEEPER CHARGED (Special to Times) MORRINSVILLE, Thursday, A short sitting or the Morrlnsville Magistrate’s court was held berore Mr 3. L. Paterson to-aay. Thomas Slater was fined £1 for operating a motor-lorry that was not equipped with two independent brakes. Inspector D. Morrow stated that when he stopped the lorry at Morrlnsville he found that the foot-brake would not act in an emergency and the hand-brake was out or order. For a breach or the Shops and Offices Act, Mrs A. Muir, who was prosecuted by the inspector of factories, was fined £l. Mr R. G. Chambers, inspector or factories at Hamilton, stated that he had purchased rlgarettes rrom defendant on the half-holiday for defendant’s shop. Prosecutions Withdrawn When two prosecutions or sheep-oxvn-ers for having llre-infested sheep at the Morrlnsville sale on March ll were called, tne ln*pprtor of stork. .Mr E. A. At the previous sitting of the court a. number of sheep-owners were fined £1 or ids on similar charges.
