DRAMA ACTIVITIES
The Hamilton Playbox “ Charity 'Begins,” an entertaining comedy-drama, was read by the Hamilton Playbox this week, and gave great pleasure to listeners. Splendid work was done by Mesdames Marsh, Walker and H. Curling, Misses Marjorie Houghton, Bunker and Barlow, Messrs H. Parkes, Greer and W. Blakeway. “ The Shining Hour ” at Palmerston | “ The Shining Hour,” a tense drama that was staged in Hamilton a year or two ago by a company that included Elaine Ilamill, was presented for three nights this week by the Manawatu Repertory Society. Repertory Arts Ball. The Wellington Repertory Society is to hold an arts ball next month. Included in the features will be a pageant of the kings and queens of I England. Mission Play at Christchurch. A mission play entitled “Floodlit” was presented in St- Mark’s Parish Hall, Christchurch, last week. The theme of the play was the growth of , medical work in the mission field.

Another Repertory production to be I undertaken before the end of the year !is Galsworthy’s “ The Skin Game.” 1 Miss Gladys Ganiman will produce. Productions In Dunedin. The Dunedin Shakespeare Club read “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” on Wednesday night. The Dunedin Repertory Society staged “Libel,” a thrilling drama, for four nights last *week.
