DRAMA FESTIVALS.
Winners of Drama Festival*. The third annual drama festival of the North Otago Federation of Women's Institutes was held last week. The winner was found in the Waiareka Institute. which staged “April Showers.” The Eveline Institute (“Patchwork Quilt”) was placed second, the Papakalo Institute (“When the Whirlwind Blows”) third, and the Windsor Institute (“The Spinsters of Lush”) fourth. The British Drama League (Christ-church-North Canterbury area) concluded its annual drama festival at Christchurch last week. The following were the results:— presented by the Amberley Drama Club, 1; “Women at War,” presented by Hay’s, Ltd., Drama Club, 2; and “Love and Cousin Albert,” presented by the Canterbury Repertory Society, 3. The South Canterbury Drama League’s festival of community drama was held this week, extending over three nights.
