THE AMERICAN TITLE THE FARR-LOUIB BOUT WELSHMAN STILL OPTIMISTIC United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright. NEW YORK, August 26 The postponement of the? match between Joe Louis, the American coloured boxer, and Tommy Farr, the former Welsh miner, for the Amerioan he'avy-weight title, has Intensified the Interest. The boxers have returned to their training camps. This morning the skies were overcast and It was raining occasionally. A sudden flurry in wagering, which previously was virtually non-existent. Is reported, Indicating some belief that Farr has been under-rated, and there is a desire to take advantage of long odds. * Farr, still full of optimism, said: “ I will llok this fellow even If he Is a strong favourite.” Sporting writers do not share this confidence, hut an increasing number advise Louis that an early knook-out is desirable. Dr. William Walker, of the Athletlo Commission, after examining the men, said that Louis’ reactions were more nervous than those of Farr. The postponement was liable to affect Louis’ fighting.
