R. Fow, when opening the new wing at “The Nest," Melville, yesterday afternoon. Mr Fow said he had no hesitation in allocating part of Lord Nuffleld's gift to tho Salvation Army home and his action had been generally endorsed. “I am pleased to see that the donation made from this fund has been used so readily and so thoroughly. My only wish is that the allocation could have been more,” added Mr Fow. In welcoming the Mayor, Commissioner F. Adams, said the Army was much Indebted to Mr Fow's Interest In all its activities and to Mrs 11. C. Ross, who had. done so much for the children at "The Nest." The Commissioner said that since coming to New Zealand he had constantly been associated with the work at “The Nest,’’ and it was a tribute to the matron and staff that there were so many applications for admission to the home.
