(Received Aug. 27. 3.15 p.m.) SANTANDER, August 26 Not a shot was fired as the troops, preceeded by bands, marched into Santander. Thousands of militiamen, who a few hours previously had been fighting in the Government ranks, lined the streets, giving tie* Nationalist solute. Many still carried rifles and revolvers. Trams were abandoned. All hotels, shops and cafes were 'closed. A message from Bayonne says that refugees from Santander continue to pour into the ports on the French Basque coast. Thirty-two fishingboat s brought 25fti» refugees from La Pallice, from which place many more crowded trawlers have been sighted. Pending orders from the French Government the local authorities are sending food aboard and are not allowing the refugees to land, the exception being a woman who gave birth to a child during Hie journev.
