PARTY AT NGARUA.

ANNUAL BCHOOL FUNCTION The annual school children’s function took the form of a party and was held in the Ngarua Hall recently. The evening was spent in games and children’s dances until the supper interval, under the supervision of the headmaster, Mr S. C. Carter, and the assistant teachers, Misses Ogilvie and McClellan. The children spent a very happy and enjoyable time. During supper Mr J. F. James, chairman of the school committee, took the opportunity of thanking everybody who had made possible such a splendid evening, and added that special praise was due to the teaohers for the work done on behalf of the children of the district. The various competitions held in aid of the school funds were won by Mr L. Davis. Mrs F. Greenville, Mr F. Greenville, Alan Kay, and lan Scott. Dancing was enjoyed by the adults, music being played by’ Mrs Glovpr (Te Aroha). Messrs S. Carter and J. Thomllnson were M’s.C. for the evening.
