CAUGHT IN MACHINERY.
BOY’S FATAL INJURIES (By Telegraph. Press Association ) DABGAVILLE, Thursday At Aoroa, near Dargaville, this morning, Gordon Groome (5), youngest son of Mr Percy Groome, was killed through being caught in machinery in a cowshed. The father was in the milking shed and heard the children playing round the cowshed. He did not know that Gordon had gone into the engine room. Hearing a knocking noise, he went t" ascertain Hie cause and found his young son seriously injured. .) i doctor was called immediately tout the ! boy expired when being taken to the M irthern Wairoa Hospital. An inquest was opened before the district coroner, Mr J. A. McLean. SONG COMPETITION RESULTS AT WELLINGTON (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON. Thursday The contest for an original song composition at the Wellington Competitions was won by Madame BettsVincent. of Wellington. Mr Herbert N. llullett (Onclmnga) was second and Miss Alice M ils.mi Duendin was third.
