EXCHANGE RESERVE HIGHER RISE IN DAIRY ACCOUNTS (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Thursday The Reserve Bank return for the J week ended Monday, August 23, was j gazetted to-night. The statement is balanced at £31,522,954, or £361,766 more than at the close of the previous week. Government deposits continue ihe j downward tendency of the past few . weeks, being £268,897 lower than,in' the last preceding return. The hold- j ings of the trading banks, on the other j hand, are £753,426 higher. Other de- j maiul liabilities have* fallen £269,897,1 -while the note issue is £146,373 1 higher. The sterling exchange reserve is £232,091 higher in value than it was a week before. Advances to Hie Dairy | ■ Industry Account have increased j j £126,598, while other assets are £6414 | higher.
