MERGING OF COUNTIES.
BILL DISAPPROVED. CONFERENCE NOT IMPRESSED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Wednesday. The Counties’ Conference to-day discussed amalgamation after an address by the lion. W. E. Parry (Minister of Internal Affairs), who explained the Bill. The conference later discussed the proposals and generally disapproved of the Bill as proposed. The debate was adjourned in the meantime and a committee of the conference is to submit a special report.
