PEACE STRENGTH 8000. THE COASTAL UNITS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association ) WE L LIN GTO N, Wedne sda y. Tlie Minister of Defence, the Hon. Jones, announced that the peaco establishment of the re-organised territorial force will he SOOO, including nearly GOO officers. The present establishment was 12,000, but Hie new establishment would be equal to the number now serving. conditions of training and service that there would l)e fewer defections than ••it present. The number of mounted rifles regiments will he. reduced to four. There will l»e three infantry battalions, ten field artillery batteries, four medium artillery batteries, two light batteries. three signal depots, three army service corps depots, and three Held ambulance units. The coastal defences will consist of three in fan try battalions, two coastal defence batteries, and two anti-air-craft groups.
