£SO MATCH DECIDED SIX CONTESTANTS QUALIFY Fine weather favoured the continuation of the North Island championship shooting tournament at the Morrinsvllle Gun Club’s grounds to-day. The main match on the day’s card was the North Island Clay Bird Championship of 21 birds, which drew the excellent entry of 47 shooters. In the morning a £SO handicap match was decided and this also drew over 40 shooters. Competition was keen throughout and a high standard of marksmanship prevailed, six competitors breaking the possible. R. Symons (Taihape) and R. Harris gave good exhibitions in this match, bringing the second barrels into play only once. The result of the £SO match was as follows ; M. Pratt (Otorohanga). 19yds.: W. Oates (Tokomaru Bay), 14yds.. C. P. Webber (Morrinsvllle), 14yds.; R. Symons (Taihape). 12yds.; W. O’Kane (Hamilton), 12yds.: Harris, 12yds., all broke the possible and divided. Mr., W. Wolven, of Hamilton, official referee to the New Zealand Gun Club, has had control of the tournament throughout the week.
