The Prime Minister, the’ Right Hon. M. J. Savage, will commence a tour of the South Island on Saturday, August 28. when he leaves for (thristchurch. He will stay there on Sunday and go to Dunedin on Monday. He will return to Christchurch on Wednesday and attend a civic reception. After spending two days in Canterbury, Mr Savage' will leave on his return to Wellington on Friday night.
The Hon. P. Fraser. Minister of Education, was to have opened a new school at Manutahl, near Hawera, today and also to have attended the proceedings of the conference of thd New Zealand Federation of School Committee Associations, which was opened in New Plymouth last evening. However, he has been obliged to cancel these engagme'nts owia® to a very severe cold. The Right Rev. C. A. Cherrlngton, Bishop of Waikato, is In Cambridge conducting a refresher course fof clergy at st. Peter’s School. Mr S. W. Oakley, of Melbourne, i« at the Hamilton Hotel. Mr Bruce Warnell-Smith, of Dannovirke. is visiting Hamilton. Sir Stephen Allen, of Morrinsvllle. was a recent caller at New Zealand House in London. The Rev. J. Beaufort, of Cambridge, was amongst the callers at New Zealand House, London, last month. Mr Gordon Turvey, who has been appointed organising secretary f° r ***• Toe II movement in New Zealand, it due at Wellington from England by the Rangilane to-day. Messrs 11. Pettit (Wellington). J.
