PLAY AT NARROWS. SILVER PUTTER COMPETITION. The silver putter was played for on the Narrows links over the week-end. The Narrows Club was successful with a score of 1130, and Ngahinapourl was second with 1172. Other chibs to compete were Bardowle, Gordonton and Te Knwhal. whoso scores were 1246, 125 8 and 127 0 respectively. Details or the leading clubs’ scores are as follows: Narrows.—D. C. The final round of the McLean Rose Bowl competition was played on the Walton links recently. The winner was Mrs F. Hayward. Ollier good cards were: Miss Beal 72. Mrs James 75, Miss Tuck 7fi. Miss Payne 77. Mrs Fromm 77, Mrs Brooks 79, Miss Franklin 79. A pennant, match was played last week between Walton and Te Aroha Ladles’ Clubs, and Walton won by rive matches to three. Results: Mrs Dickey beat Mrs Miss Tuck lost to Mr McGlashan, Mrs Hayward beat Mrs Malngay, Mrs Carter lost, to Mrs Kenny. Miss Franklin beat Mrs Smith, Mrs James lost to Mrs Canvardine, Miss Turk lost to Mrs, McGlashan, Mrs Fromm beat Mrs Wright. PUTARURU GAMES. CHAMPIONSHIPS DECIDED (Special to Times.) PUTARURU, Monday During the week-end several championship matches were played on the Putaruru links. In the Junior championship A. E. Hills and G. A. Pearce played off, the latter winning 7 and 6 after being all square at the 18th. To gain the semi-finals of the senior championship, A. E. Pearce defeated N. Robinson, W. Burkett beat R. Roire, 5 and 4; H. Gordon defeated A. L. Mason, 5 and 4; and E. Morris beat G. Gadd, 4 and 2. In the Barr-Brown Cup to reach the seml-nnals A. E. Pearce (5) beat E. Bruce Smith t 8), 5 and 4; I. Thompson beat G. A Pearce, 5 and 3 and E. Morris (5) beat J. Tomalln (it). The morning's StapleTord was won by A. E. Pearce who, with a gross of 77, compiled 3 5 points. Other cards were:— N. Spraggon 32, D. C. Freeman 27. The (Inal of the ladles’ senior championship was won by Mrs G. A. Pearce, 2 up against Mrs N. Spraggon. The final of the ladles’ Junior •championship was won by Miss K. Cleary against Mrs McKenzie, 2 up. On Saturday afternoon the Tokoroa Club played Putaruru at the local links. Putaruru won by 19 matches with one matc.h halved.
