OBITUARY.
MR FRANK BLACKMAN. (Special to Times.) TE AROHA. Monday. A well-known and much-esteemed former resident of Te Aroha West. Mr Frank Blackman, died at the Auckland Hospital on Friday after a long period of indifferent health. Born in London 68 years ago he came to New Zealand with his parents at the age of 1 i years. The family landed at Auckland, and soon afttr took up a block of land in the Waikato, farming it successfully for a
number of jears. When 18 years of age Mr Blackman left for Auckland, and was lalcr employed by the Auckland Gas Company. Later he went Lack to Hamilton, joining the staff of the gas company there. In 1917 he resumed farming, taking up a proper, y of 100 acres near tlie Te Aroha West dairy factory. Within a few years ue had brought the farm up to a high state of production. For a lengthy term he was chairman of the Te Aroha West factory committee. He retired from active work in 1931. and sines then had lived a retired life in Auckland.
The late Mr Blackman is survived by a widow and family of three—Mra W. Godkin (Te Aroha , Mr Frank Roy Blackman Mercer, and Mr Allan Blackmau ,Te Aroha West,. There ara eight grandchildren.
