STOCK SALES.
RATEB AT TE KUITI. Messrs Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having held their usual fortnightly sale at Te Kulti, when a small yarding of sheep and a large yarding of cattle came forward. The entry of sheep comprised mainly hoggets, which attracted keen competition, and a rise in values is reported- In the cattle section all classes were keenly sought and the yarding was disposed of under the hammer at values very acceptable to vendors. Good fat wethers made £2 is; medium, 37s 6d; light, 325; good ewe hoggets, 36s 6d; smaller, 335; medium wether hoggets, 25s lid to 2Gs 2d. Medium fat cows, £7 15s; fair -conditioned 3-year P.A. steers, £'J 4s to £9 10s; light 'condition and small, £7 17s 6d; medium 3-year steers, £8 12s; good store 3-year Shorthorn and Red Poll steers, £8 12s to £8 16s; smaller Shorthorn, £7 18a to £8 2s; good 2-year Polled Angus steers, £7 12s to £7 18s; medium, £7 6s; Shorthorn and Jersey Cross 3-year steers, £5 Is; medium 2-year P.A. heifers, £6 5s to £6 9s; medium yearling P.A. stoers, £5 9s; good yearling P.A. heifers, £5; good condition Jersey cows, empty, £5 Is; aged P.A. cows, r.w. P.A. bull, £6 15s; yearling Jersey steers, 32s 6d; 2-year Jersey steers, £2 to £2 6s; small yearling Jersey heifers, £2 15s; medium Jersey heifers, close to profit, £6; small and baokward, £3 15s; medium dairy cows olose to profit, £7; later calvers, £4 15s to £5 10s; late and unsound, £3 15s to £4 ss, NQARUAWAHIA YARDINQB. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agenoy Co., Ltd., Hamilton, report as follows on their Ngamawahia stock sale. A full yarding was handed. It comprised a number of unfinished fat cows, with a majority of stores and boners. A few pens of yearling heifers were also •entered. The quality of the dairy yarding was not particularly good although there was a scattering of better class sorts. The demand for fats and stores was brisk and realisations were on a par with current values. Considering the class offered the dairy market was good and consistently steady competition was
forthcoming, especially for the younger good types. Unfinished Poll Angus and Hereford fat cows made £8 5s to £8 1 5s; a pen of medium conditioned fat Poll Angus heifers realised £8; fat Jersey oows, £5 5s to £6 16s; unfinished Jerseys, £•* 5s to £5 ss; forward store cows, £3 10s to £4 2s 6d; heavy boners, £2 15s to £3 7s 6d; others up to £2 12s Gd; medium yearling heifers, £3 13s; good dairy cows, £8 15s to £9 15s; medium, £7 5s to £8 10s; plainer sorts up to £7.
HORSES AT TE AWAMUTU. Messrs Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having held their horse sale at Te Awamutu. No particularly outstanding horses were offered, and consequently competition was not exceptionally keen. The top price received was for a nine-year old black gelding sold with any trial on account of Mr W. Saunders, of Bruntwood, which realised £36 10s and was purchased by Mr T. G. Martin, of Te Awamutu. Another six-year-old bay mare sold with any trial on account of Mr s. Me Ivor realised £3l 10s. Also on account of Mr J. T. Young a three year bay mare broken to chains and not worked for six months realised £3l. Older horses made from £lO to £22; small unbroken horses ranging from eight months to two and a half years realised £3 to £l9 10s. Hacks, best,, made £l2 5s to £l3; others. £6 to £8 ss.
