The police announce that the persons responsible for the attempt on the life of Dr. Antonio Salazar on July 4 have been arrested, and have confessed. Their names have been disclosed. On July 4, a bomb was placed in an electric cable tunnel with the intention of assassinating the Prime Minister of Portugal, Dr. Antonio Salazar, when he was going to attend Mass. The bomb exploded as he left his motor-car outside the private chapel, tearing a 12ft. hole in the tunnel and damaging the frontage of houses. Ur. Salazar was not hurt and smilingly entered the chapel.
