Giving evidence in the action in which George Brent, film player, is seeking annulment of their marriage, celebrated last May in an elopment to Tia Juana, Mexico, Jocelyn Howartli (known professionally as Constance Worth), Australian film actress, said: “ It was a month after the elopement that Brent announced that he was tired of being married to me. He said he was unhappy and had been in the desert thinking things over. “ I asked him if he wanted a divorce, and he replied that It would be unnecessary because the marriage was Illegal. He said his attorney had Informed him of this a fortnight after the marriage.” Burst Into Tears. At this point Miss Howarth broke Into sobs and rushed out of the Courtroom. This was the second such outburst, the first taking place when one of Brent’s attorneys testified that the actor had said he had fought against the marriage but had yielded to Miss Howarth’s repeated urglngs. The Court granted a motion, sought unexpectedly by Miss Howarth’s attorneys, permitting the answer to Brent’s petition to be amended in order to show that Miss Howarth participated in the marriage ceremony in good faith. The hearing was adjourned.
