TIMBER WORKERS' UNION. IMPROVEMENT IN' CONDITIONS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) TAUMARUNUI, Saturday. The annual meeting of the South Auckland Timber W orkers’ Union was attended by 50 delegates. The total membership of tlie union is now 2083. The general secretary, Mr W. Seator, said a general improvement had been made iu wages and conditions of work during the year. While most employers had complied with requirements, others had made no effort. In tiiese eases the union would not extend any further leniency and would press for prosecutions in all eases where no improvement had been effected. Mr 11. 1L Smith was elected president and Mr W. Seator general secretary.
