CAR LEAVES ROAD
MOTORIST FOUND DEAD, PINNED UNDER THE SEAT. NO BRAKE-BANDS ON VEHICLE. (By Tele&rapf*..—rress Association.) THAMES Saturday, Through a car leaving the road on a sharp bend on the ThameaTapu main highway last evening, Mr Charles Manu, a native (40) v married, resident at Black Swan Creek, was accidentally killed. A pss*sing motorist observed the car upside down on the seashore 30 feel below tlie road, and found Manu pinned under the seat dead. The motorist informed the police, who removed the body to the Thames morgue. Deceased, who was alone In the car at Hie time, was a contractor to drlvg school children from Black Swan Creek to the Tapu school. Inspection revealed that the car had no brakebands. The back wheels of the car were considerably damaged, and a door was found 50 yards away.
