SEEKING NEW FAME.
FORMER FAMOUS BOY SOPRANO. ERNEST LOUGHS PLANS. Ernest Lough, whose golden treble voice made him world famous as a schoolboy of 15, told the London Sunday Graphic of his long fight to win new fame with a new voice. It Is ten years since Ernest, then a Temple choirboy, thrilled millions with his singing of “Hear My Prayer” in a golden treble voice. A million records of his singing were sold in five years and played all over the world. “When my voice broke soon after I had passed 15,” he said, "I had to face a difficult problem. “So I took up a business career as well, and worked hard at my job, but every day I have practised and practised. “Gradually my voice has increased in strength and range. But it Is very different. From a treble I have become a baritone.” To Be Married. Then he revealed another secret. “I hope to be married early next year to my accompanist, Miss Ethel Charlton. “I think that Is the most wonderful
professional combination you can have —always provided you can overcome your nervousness for each other 1”
