DRAMA ACTIVITIES.
The Dunedin Playbox. An original comedy by Robert Morley, “ Short Story,” will be presented by Mr. W. Russell-Wood, formerly of Hamilton, at the Dunedin Playbox on Tuesday evening. before Hie end of the season Mr. Russell-Wood hopes lo present a Spanish play entitled "The Women Have Their Way.”
W.E.A. Drama Circle. Bernard Shaw’s melodrama, ‘ The Devil’s Disciple,” was presented at the W.E.A. on Tuesday, under the direction of Miss T. Mayo. Good work was done by the following players:—Anthony Anderson, Mr. E. Purdy; Judith Anderson, Miss Saunders; Mrs. Dudgeon, Mrs. Curling; Richard Dudgeon, Mr. McDonald; Christopher Dudgeon, Mr. Overheu; Uncle William, Mr. Earle; Uncle Titus, Mr. Tait; Essie, Miss P. Kear; Lawyer Hawkins, Mr. de la Mare; Major Swindon, Mr. Tait; Chaplain Brudenell, Mr. de la Mare; The Sergeant, Mr. Page; General Burgoyne, Mr. Earle. “ Duet in Floodlight,” a comedy by J. B. Priestley, will be read at tho next meeting. Drama Productions In Dunedin. The Dunedin Lillie Theatre Society lias decided to produce “Mrs Moonlight” and “Until Die Day I Die” as Hie next two major productions. Miss Madge Yales, the society’s producer, will pc* botir these f reductions in renearsai immediately. “ Lucky Dip ” at Wellington. After the naturalism of o’Casev; the realism of Ibsen ami the romanticism of Barrie. Leo du Chateau is lo produce the late Frank Yosper’s farcical comedy. “ Lucky Dip,” for the Wellington Repertory Theatre Society Tor five performances, commencing on Tuesday, September 7. The “ Lucky Dip" cast will include many well-known favourites and several making llielr first appearance In a major production.
