SETTLE—HANCOOK.

The marriage was solemnised at All Saints’ Church, Matamata, on the afternoon of August 14, between Thelma, eldest daughter of Mrs and the late Mr L. Hancock, of Hlnuera, and Ralph, only son af Mr and Mrs Herbert Settle, of Ilinuera. The Rev. G. F. W. Oulds performed the oeremony, and Mr P. Ingham presided at the* organ. The churoh had been beautifully arranged by friends of the bride with spring blooms and greenery.

The bride, who entered the churoh with her brother, Mr W. Hanoook. wore a lovely gown of Ivory laoe, fashioned on slender lines, the graceful skirt falling to form a long train. The bodice featured a oowl neckline and leg-o’-mutton sleeves. She wore an embroidered tulle veil caught to the head with a halo of orange blossom, and carried a bouquet of white roses, lily of the valley, paper whites and maidenhair fern.

She was attended by her two sisters, Mrs A. Robinson, matron of honour, and Miss Eileen Hancock and Miss Mona Ryan. Their frocks were of coral pink Chantilly lace over satin, with a basque effect at the waistline. They wore head bands of flowers to match their frocks and carried bouquets of pink loeland poppies, lemon daffodils and maidenhair fern. Mr Eric Settle (cousin of the bridegroom) was best man, and Mr Arnold Clements and Mr Arthur Lowry were the groomsmen. At the conclusion of the service the solo “Thanks be to God” was rendered by Miss Green. At the reception, held In the Rialto Rooms, the guests were received by the bride’s mother, who was wearing a navy costume and fur, with accessories to tone, and carried a posy of daphne, violets and maidenhair fern. She wns assisted by the bridegroom’s mother, who was wearing a black pinstripe costume, furs, and black and white hat. and carried a bouquet of scarlet anemones and maidenhair fern. When Mr and Mrs Settle left by car for the honeymoon the bride travelled wearing a navy tailored costume, with accessories to tone. They will make their home at Hlnuera. The hail was crowded, visitors attending from all the surrounding districts Mr P. It. Hawke called upon Miss Hancock and Mr Ralph Settle to receive the many gifts. On behalf of the club. Mr A. Clements asked them a dinner wagon, Mr w. H. Oates presented a hanging mirror from the Tennis Club, and on behalf of the
