SPRING FLOWERS.
HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY, ARRANGEMENTS COMPLETED. A well-attended meeting of the •several committees of the Hamilton Horticultural Society was held in the Wattle Tea Rooms last evening the president, Mr A. W. Ward, presiding. Arrangements in connection with the spring show to be held in the Alexandra Hall on Wednesday and Thursday. September 15 and 10. were finalised, the following ladies being appointed chief steward-*: Mesdarnes C L. MacDiarmid and Toombs and .Miss Ycreoe. Sixteen new members were elected, and Mr J. Smith was appointed to tho committee. The schedule of the society’s shows for ttie ensuing seasqn has been distributed to members. Provision has been made for all classes of exhibitors, novice, intermediate and open, and it is to be hoped that all flower enthusiasts will endeavour to stage an exhibit and help to make an attractive display. lt was decided to approach Miss P. Menzies, lady superintendent, with a view to having a special decorative class for the Inmates of the Sunshine Ward at the Waikato Hospital, as it was considered it might be of interest to the young patients.
