BOROUGH COUNCIL MEETS. MI NlGir * L BAND’S DEAR EST. (.Special to Times.) CAM BRIDGE, Friday. The August meeting or the Cambridge Borough 1 iiincil was held last evening when there were present the Mayor (Mr C. H. Priest!. and Me-Ms .lames, M. Wells, o. Calvert and k. 1.. Wilkinson. Mr F. T. l\uy (town clerk) and Mr F. H. Green (supervisor or works) were In attendance. The council balance-sheet was returned from the Audit Department, being approved subject to minor adjustments. The supervisor reported on Improvements carried out to the ga? supply since the experience ho gained by a week’s tour In the north, where various gasworks were Inspected. The Mayor's action In appointing Mr Green to supervise tlie manufacture or gas. was approved. Mr Green further explained that while more coal was used in the making of ihe jsame caloric value of gas as previously, consumers could bo assured or the best possible service in the future. The Band Trouble. The Cambridge Municipal Band wrote requesting that the council reconsider Its decision that all bandsmen hand in their instruments and equipment. Mr Calvert considered that the' council should stick to its resolution. If the matter were allowed to simmer, the trouble would right itseir after a few months.
