OTOROHANGA NOTES.
KITCHEN EVENING. Miss Marion Croasdale was recently tendered a largely-attended kitchen •veiling at the residence of Mr and Mrs Hodson, in Otorohanga. in view jf her approaching marriage. A pleasant social evening was spent, during which the many gifts were opened by the guest-of-honour. ANGLICAN CHURCH DANCE. The Anglican community held their annual dance in the Municipal Hall, Otorohanga, on Tuesday evening, when there was a veiy good attend- , ance from many parts ol the Waikato and King Country. Clayton's Orchestra played excellent music, and Mr L Palmer was principal M.C. During the evening the vicar, the Rev. Kenneth R. Small, returned thanks to the guests. PRESBYTERIAN SOCIAL. The Presbyterian community held a very successful and well-attended social in their hall, Otorohanga. when music, song, story, competitions and monologue passed a very pleasant evening. A choir contest, with Messrs Liddy, Sanders and Watson as the choirmasters, and Miss Hopkirk the judge, was a greatly appreciated feature. Songs which were much appreciated were given by Mr Richards, Miss Osborne, Mr Stamp and Mr Sanders. A mandolin solo ly Mr Finlay, and interpretations by Miss McPhillips New Plymouth), were much enjoyed. Mrs Liddy and Miss Hopkirk played m6st of the accompaniments, and the choir gave selections. The men of the parish provided supper. A very successful collection was taken for the piano fund. The Rev. S. W. Webber returned thanks to the gathering for their attendance and the success of the function.
