The firm nature of the going will assist his claims. Parquet’s Credentials. Alytli is handily placed with 8.6 in the Sylvia Park Handicap to-morrow, f Her form at the Ellerslie June meeti ing was good and she will have’ her opportunity here of making amends for J her defeat ot Te Awamutu, where she i ran fourth In the Ilairini Hack Ilandis cap, won by Bescigc'. Qay 6treak. Gay Streak Is not without good prospects of success in the Auckland Ilamli- , cap to-morrow. Galllo’s Chances. , Gallio drew attention to his sprint 1 prospects at Ellerslie to-morrow, when ; he shaped attractively on the tracks at Te Awamutu yesterday. He has been i in steady work for some months, past [ and promises to strip in good heart for | engagements ahead.
MAY SONG. May Song Is In splendid order to contest the Sylvia Park Handicap and on her running at Gisborne recently she will take a power of beating. Yesterday she pleased by accounting for Prince Aero over six furlongs. She Is a definitely improved mare now and her connections should experience a remunerative season with the three-quarter sister to Pink Coat.
Orao Should Run Well. Among 1 lie light-weiglil prospects entered for llic Jellieoe Handicap is ' M. J. Carroll’s charge, Urac, whose . efforts on tlie tracks over the past . several weeks have' been distinctly 1 promising. He is looking in splendid , nick and it will not be on the score i of condition if lie fails to give of his ‘ best. Hlrangi. In the Ladies’ bracelet, file event for ' gentlemen riders at the Pakuranga [ Hunt, it Is more often than not that ■ riding tactics play an all-important part in the decision. Among the horses, who will he well served in this regard is Ilirangi, a member of L. Knapp’s Awapuni team, who will have the services of the well-known amateur, Mr K. McK. Duncan. Gay Seton. When thoroughly attuned Gay Seton possesses more than average ability to cover the ground and while he would be • preTerred more with a race or two into him he should, nevertheless, strip a fil horse for his sprint encagement ! to-morrow. Has Abundance of Speed. Latest reports from Te Awamutu stale that Huntingmore has wintered well, and his prospects during Hie present term are regarded highly. As a two-year-old last season the son of Hunting Song and Curraglmiorc registered some smart performances, which left no doubt concerning bis speed. If Huntingmore makes the improvement that horses of his age are reasonably expected lo do lie should make a first class sprinter this season. A Likely Improver. Among the improving talent entered for the Pakuranga Hunt is Bryce Street, who in recent weeks lias made splendid progress under M. J. Carroll's charge. Won At Trentham. Dutch Girl has been paid up for in Ihe .lellicoo and Auckland Handicaps and it is not yc't known what race she will contest. This mare was in good order at the Wellington fixture, where she annexed Hie' Petone Handicap, run over a mile, on the second day. if reserved for llic Auckland Handicap, which is run over llic' same distance. Dutch Girl should give a good account of herself, as she Is not overburdened willi and slays on better Ilian most backs. Has a Dual Engagement.
