The decision of the Government to I carry through the previous Governj ment’s policy in reference to zoning ! of cream supplies had caused quite a ! lot of adverse comment by those who | had been more directly affected, comi mented Mr Parlane in his address. ! Some of those people had seen tTt to credit his company with the responsibility of bringing into being the zoning system, and he took the opportunity of giving an emphatic denial to any such suggestion—as a matter of fact . zoning was really ilie outcome of a i report of the Dairy Commission which | was set up by a previous Govern- ' ment. and at the request of the farmers themselves. j As was only to be expected in an 1 adjustment of this nature, they had •lost about 70 suppliers in the North Auckland district, who had been required to transfer to the Kaipara company. He regretted very much indeed that their long and pleasant association with these people had been terminated. j However, whilst they had lost the number of suppliers referred to, they had gained a very large number indeed throughout the territory over which they operated, and to these j people he extended a very hearty I welcome, and assured them of ! every possible courtesy from the mem- ! hers of their staff. lie felt sure they would find that the service and returns which they were able to render their people were unequalled by any 1
