Ideal conditions prevailed for training at Ellerslie this morning and there was a good deal or interesting work both on the Hat ant over renecs. The No. I grass, with poles lort. out, was in use for galloping- and the going was in fairly good order. Tfie steeplechase course, hurdles, tan and sand tracks were also available. The best efTorts were credited to Kilonsa, Tybalt, and Vahnint. while among the jumpers All Irish and Thespis impressed. Top star (Wiggins) got to the end or seven furlongs in 1.37 2-5. He was going comfortably and could have improved upon the time. Kelly. Teddy Boy and Meadow King were worked separately but could not be timed. Kilonsa (Wiggins) finished In front of Lord Val (Green) over five furlongs, run in 1.5 4-5. The last three furlongs took 38 3-ss. and Kilonsa. who was on the outside. shaped impressively. Stretto (Moore) finished up her work by running three furlongs in 40s. and King Neptune took 4 4 2-ss_ For a similar -w task Knight or Australia reeled ofT six P" furlongs in 1.22, finishing on in good style. Lorknlt (R. Team) was clear of Aero Queen (Tremain) at the conclusion of hairw/rk 'w* ]] n iU 4 -> s - Locknit did his Kiltowyn Shapes Well. Klltowyn (Cameron) was allotted ( round which occupied 1.50. He ran th« final half-mile in 555. He was golni well withnl himself throughout. valmint ( R. Fearn) and Prince Colossui (Murray) completed six rurlongs in 1.20 2- the first, three being covered in 30 3- Valmint finished in front, though Prince Colossus shaped better than usual. Fersen (Wiggins). School Song (R. Feran). Ringshot (Murray; and Saccone (Cameron) ran five furlongs in 1.7 3-5. the first two taking 2* 3-ss. They were bunched at the end. Skyway had Tahae Mea as a companion over a round, the last mile being covered in 1.52 1-5, and the final six rurlongs being traversed in 1.25 2-5. There was not much between them and both had something in reserve at the finish. My Money (McLaughlin) and Jalldy Karo (Turvey) were about on terms arter completing six rurlongs in 1.24 1-5 Over a similar distance Tybalt (Gilchrist; recorded 1.20 1-5. He was running or nicely at the finish. Versant was worked on the tan. being sent over a round. He was timed to run the last seven furlongs in 1.38 1-5. Sir Russell (Fergus) and Prince Colossus (Olive) were schooled over Tour hurdles in the centre. They got round sarely, giving a satisfactory display. Carshalton (Olive) was sent over the same obstacles and although he did not have much pace on his display was satisfactory. Over Country. Adsum (Baker) went over the steeplechase fences on the flat twice, lie fenced well on both occasions, though he hit th« first rence or the double the second time Royal Chips (Fergus). Gay Cavalier (McLaughlin). Sleepy (Williams), platter (L. Dulieu) and Irish Boy (Olive) were in that order at the end of a round of tlie steeplechase course. Sleepy and Planer took tlie water jump the first i time, while the others went over the double Gay Cavalier and Royal Chips made an improved showing, while .-leepv and Platter jumped safely hut were not bustled.
