LEAGUE OF MOTHERS.
TOKANUI BRANCH. The sixth annual meeting and birthday celebrations of tho Tokanui branch of the League of Mothers was held at llie Crossroads Hall on August 11, the president. Airs F. 11. Barnett, presiding over an excellent attendance of members. Following the devotional portion of the meeting, correspondence business and Hie election of officers took place. Mrs S. Wyllie gave an Interesting travel talk of a tour through tlie States of New South Wales and Queensland. AustraliaThe annual report reviewed continued interest in the work of the leaguo with its high ideals and aims. Following were the officers elected: President, Mrs K. H. Barnett; presid-ent-elect. Mrs G. Benny; vice-presid-ents, Mesdames Cruickshank and Mowcroft, snr.; lion, secretary and treasurer, Mrs J. 11 ling; town correspondent, Aliss Elsie Howcroft; press and magazine reporter, Mrs G. Benny. During afternoon tea a beautiful birthday cake, donated by Airs J. •Cruickshank, was cut.. Mrs Cruickshank gave the thought for the month, and voles of appreciation to officers were expressed.
