BLOOD TRANSFUSIONS.
TREATMENT OF CANCER. SUCCESS OF EXPERIMENTS. RUSSIAN PROFESSOR’S CLAIMS. Grilled Pres: Assn.—£ioc. lel Copyright LONDON, August 13. A new era in the surgical treatment of cancer by the transfusion of blood from dead persons is claimed by Professor S. S. Yudin, of Moscow. In an article in tiic Lancet he describes how blood from a man who had been dead for six hours, after a btls accident, was successfully given to an engineer who was dying from lsss of blood after attempting suicide. The patient recovered in two days. Experiments have been made of over 1000 transfusions of this type of blood. Professor Yudin claims that they convince him that the method would be most successful in combating cancer and haemorrhages. He has been able to obtain large sup- ; plies of blood which have been stored and used successfully after three weeks.
