The Rainfall. Rainfall for 24 hours ended 0 o’clock this morning, .00in. Rainfall for previous 24 hours .00in. Rainfall for August to date, .75in. Average rainfall for August. 3.96in. Rainfall for year to date, 28.27m. Average yearly rainfall, 46.32in. SPECIAL FORECAST. (By Govt. Meteorologist). The special forecast by the Government Meteorologist covering the WaikatoThames Valley is as follows: Forecast: Moderate to strong south-easterly winds. Weather mainly fair to fine, but a few isolated showers probable. Temperatures cool. Seas rather rough to rough. ■General Inference: Though a very intense anti-cyclone still covers the Dominion, the highest pressure is. over the southern portion of the South Island and conditions, therefore, favour a continuance of south-easterly winds over the North Island.
