Company nor the British-India Lino has agreed to attend an international shipping conference which Japanese (ompanies are reported to he seeking to arrange at Tokio in the autumn. The object is to discuss a division of tho available passenger and cargo traffic in eastern waters, also passenger and freight rates. The P. and O. Company denies reports that it intends to transfer liner-s to the Pacific route while new vessels are being built.
