SUCCESSFUL EVENING.

KARAMU BASKETBALL DANCE. A very enjoyable and successful evening was held in the Te Pahu Hall recently on the occasion of the Karamu Basketball Club dance. Excellent music was played by Mr F. Beet, of Pirongia, and Mr D. Marsh was M.C. The winners of several novelty dances were Miss A. Strong and partner. Miss J. Sigvertsen and Mr G. Thacker, Miss B. Smith and Mr G. Adams, Miss E. Charleston and Mr G. Thacker.

Among- those present were:—Mesdames A. Smith, wearing- black lace anti velvet coatee; J. Harper, navy georgette and lace; H. Rolley, green elephant crepe with sequins and black ring velvet cape; T. Watkins (Tauranga), green velvet and pink lace; u. Carter, green crepe and velvet coat; F. Strong, red georgette and lace; Remnant, marina blue georgette; E. D. smith, navy satin; J. Cheyne, Wallis blue taffeta; D. Smith, rose pink cloque; L. Whittaker, floral crepe; W. Charleston, royal blue silk velvet and gold lame; E. Collins, white angelskin lace and crepe do chine; L. Adams, black silk velvet and georgette; uannuu, black taffeta.
