SCHEME 1 I Beautiful massed bronze bowls of , pale pink prunus blossom and a profusion of rosy pink camellias and rho j dodendrons had transformed the 3 , State Wintecgarden most charmingly ’ last evening on the occasion of a de--3 , lightful dance given by Mesdames E. 3 J Mears, E. J. Stewart, 11. G. Ser- , gel, O. M. Hope, J. F. Strang and W. 1 Tudhope for their debutante daughters, the Misses Dorothy Mears, 1 Heather Stewart, Joan Sergei, June ' Hope, Sydney Strang and Shirley Tud--3 hope. Many friends of the guests ’ of the evening were present and the function was a particularly happy one , ’ and much appreciated. 3 The decorative scheme was most ! attractive, and the side of the dance floor had been arranged as a lounge with carpets, occasional tables and easy chairs. The orchestral dais was flanked on either side with huge bowls of autumn foliage and rhododendrons and banked along the front with rosy camellias In their deep green leaves. Floating bowls, charmingly arranged with rosy camellias, " were on the tables, and in the cubicles were vases of pink japonlca and cam--1 ellias. Bronzo bowls of prunus 1 blossom lent a spring-like note in the 1 lounge, and the supper tables were e gay with silver candlesticks with pink s candles, and bowls of blossom, cam- ( " ellias, japonica and autumn leaves--3 (Overhead parchment lampshades 1 fringed in pink cast a rosy glow 0 The hostesses received the guests f wearing:— 1 Mrs Mears, violet chiffon lace. Mrs Stewart, chartreuse green 3 crepe rornain. Mrs Sergei, green Venetian lace. 3 Mrs Hope, parma violet lace. J Mrs Strang, beige lace and georgette. Mrs Tudhope, fuchsia shot swathed 0 French cloque and toning posy.
