THE RESERVE BANK.
A DROP IN DEPOSITS. INCREASE IN DAIRY ADVANCES. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. The Reserve Bank return for Yhe week ended Monday, August 9, was gazetted to-night. The statement is balanced at £30,631,483, or £081,557 less than at the close of the previous week. Government deposits have decreased by £112,583, and those of the trading banks are £632,147 lower. The note issue has fallen by £29,278, while other demand liabilities are £93,682 higher. There has been a substantial decrease in the valuation of the sterling exchange reserve, which is £722,932 lower than it was a week earlier. Advances to the Dairy industry Account have increased by £70,315. The statement, with variations compared with the week before, is as follows : LIABILITIES. Variation £ £ 1.
