TRAFFIC BREACHES.

MORRINBVILLE CASES. A DANGEROUS DRIVER. (Times Representative.) MORRINSVILLE, Thursday. Several breaches of the traffic regulations were heard before Mr S. L. Paterson. S.M., at the monthly sitting of the Morrinsville Magistrate's Court yesterday* Failure to notify the registrar, within seven days, of the sale of his motorcar resulted in Percy Rushton (Tatuanui) being fined 10s with costs. For riding an unlighted bicycle at night on the Morrinsville—Te Aroha main road on May 24, James McLean fined 10s, with costs. On a a similar charge Percy Knight Brightwell was convicted and ordered to pay the costs of the prosecution. A charge of driving a motor-car in a manner dangerous to the public was preferred against James Terence Hawke. Traffic Inspector D. E. Morrow stated that on June 11 he had seen defendant in Thames Street travelling at a speed which was too fast for him to turn the corner safely. He had narrowly missed a woman with a perambulator. When questioned later defendant had slated that, his accelerator had jammed. The incident had occurred on a sale day and if e anyone had been crossing the intersection the consequences might have been serious. Defendant was fined £l, with costs. Operating a Noisy Vehicle. A fine of £5 with costs was imposed on Donald McDonald for operating a motor-lorry not equipped with two independent brakes. A further charge of operating a noisy motor vehicle was preferred against McDonald and he was fined Ins with costs. Inspector Morrow stated that defendant had not carried a warrant of fitness and a fine of 10s. with costs, was imposed. Charged with parking his ear in front of a vehicular entrance, Edwin Tophani was convicted and ordered to pay costs. Inspector Morrow stated that he

wanted the ease to be a warning to other drivers. The practice was a common one in Morrinsville and caused a good deal of trouble to the business people. A tine of tOs with costs, was imposed on lan Kemp ton Hastings for driving a motor vehicle without a driver’s license.
