HOSPITAL BOARD LEVIES. FIRST INSTALMENTS DUE. A reminder to representatives of 'local bodies present that the first p»5I ments In respect of hospital board allocations w’ere due was given by the chairman, Mr J. J. Ryburn. at the monthly meeting of the Waikato Hospital Bo&rd to-day. I There were present: Mr Ryburn, !Mrs H. M. Wilson and Messrs F. Kindlay, T. Hinton, A. L. Keith, W. R. Lowry, S. G. B. Macky, W. Morrlce, F. Potts, J. Price, S. S. Saulbrey. G. Smith, G. Urquhart, A. G. Dent and 11. W. Wilson. Mr A. C. Burgess, secretary, and Dr. M. M. Hockln, niedh-»l I superintendent, were also present. An i apology for absence was received from ;Mr E. C. Day. Referring to the payment of allocations by local bodies, Mr Ryburn said that the board expected these to be paid during the current month. They were due and until they were collected the board could not lift the Government's subsidy. Advice was received from the secretary to the Committee of Inquiry into Maternity Services of New Zealand that, the committee proposed to visit Hamilton on or about September J 5 and inviting board member® to be present. A recommendation made to Ihe House and Finance Committee by the Medical Superintendent and hr. 11. fc. Harris, that a suitable staff nurse be trained and appointed hs nil \-ltay technician lo supplement the staff iu |that department was approved.
