PING-PONG SOCIAL AND DANOE.

A most enjoyable time was spent in the Te Rore Hall when the Te Rore Ping-Pong Club recently held a most successful social and children’s fancy dress dance.

Throughout the evening games and competitions were enjoyed by the ohlldren. Items were given by Miss Eva Godfrey and Messrs K. Allcock and Tibor Nadas. A play given by the ping-pong members was very much enjoyed. Visitors were present from the surrounding districts.

After supper had been served by the local ladles, dancing was -continued, Mrs Rothwell playing excellent music.

The judges for the fancy costumes were Miss Strong and Mr Rothwell-Prize-winners included the following:—Girls: Prettiest costume, 01wyn Bell (Flowed Girl) ; most original, Daphne Hack (Hula Girl) ; special, Marjorie Finn (Spring). Boys:

Best costume, Reid McKinnon (Popeye); most original, Henry Bell (Chef); special, Robert Finn (Maori Wahine). Adults: Prettiest costume, Misses F. Coxhead and E. Forkert (Coronation Twins).
