OLAIM BY PARACHUTIBT. JUMP AT 22,400 FEET. United Press Assn—Elec. Tel Copyright, LONDON, August 10. Not until he had fallen 18,000 ft. tn 90 seconds did Gwynne Johns, a salesman, pull the cord of his parachute over Salisbury Plain. Johns, who Is 27 years old, claims a new world record for a delayed drop. The previous holder was the late John Tranum, who dropped 17,000 ft. before he pulled the cord which opened his parachute. Johns Jumped from his aeroplans at a height of 22,400 ft.
