AN INSPIRATIONAL STORY.
“TILL WE HAVE BUILT.” A MESSAGE CARRIED ON. “Till We Have Built,” by 'Gwen Tupper (published by William Blackwood and Sons, Ltd.), is a novel that cannot fail to be an inspiration to all who read it. The title is taken from the well-known lines of William Blake. “I will not cease from mental light, iNor shall my sword sleep in my hand, Till we have built . . In a story of restrained drama and skilful character drawing the author shows how a girl of artistic sensibility responds to the influence of her cousin partly before, but mostly after, his tragic death. There is a warm friendship, but. no “love affair” between them in life; though when the world by his death is deprived of the promise of a great nr!'s', she realises more and more his I'.r <jualitles, and, instinct with the s 'of love, becomes inspired with some measure of his talent. She is thereby enabled, not only to reveal the semi-mystery of his death, but also to carry on the message of his art.
