TAXATION CHANGES.
"MUST BE EQUITABLE.” GOVERNMENT'S INTENTIONB. (By Telegraph-.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Monday. The Prime Minister, Mr Savage, said to-day that the Government Intended to deal with the question of taxation without delay. They were anxious to see that taxation 19 equitable, he said, adding that the incidence would have to be changed to make It equitable. The report of the special committee on the subject was almost ready. Mr Savage said the Budget preparation was well forward though Mr Nash would have to examine It to see what taxation would be neoessary. Mr Savage stated that Parliament would be prorogued from next Thursday till September 2.
