It resulted on this occasion in a substantial victory for (he oniclnl rolled Australia Party candidate, Mr 11. B. Turner, who contested Ihe Gordon seal in the Legislative Assembly, rendered vacant by the resignation of sir Philip Goldllnrh Mr Turner defcaled the Independent United Australia Parly candidate Mr S. A. Storey, by 4500 votes.
