MOTORISTS FINED.

BEVERAL BEFORE COURT. BREACHES OF TRAFFIC RULES. A number of prosecutions Involving traffic offences were brought before Mr S. L. Paterson, S.M., by Mr R. Metcalfe, Government traffic Inspector in the Hamilton Magistrate’s Court this morning. Veronica Quirk was fined 10s with 10s costs for not having a driver’s license. For driving In a dangerous manner on the Auekland-Hamllton main highway, Dorothy Shuttleworth was fined £1 with 10s costs. Mr Metcalfe said the defendant was travelling over 45 miles per hour within the borough, and failed to slow down at the 30 miles per hour sign. The driver maintained that she did not see the sign.

For operating a heavy motor vehicle on the Hamilton-Auckland main highway at a greater speed than the maximum of 25 miles per hour, Leslie Webley was fined 10s with 10s costs. A fine of £3 with 12s costs was imposed on John Cameron, of Hamilton East, who on May 12 drove a heavy vehicle near Horotlu at a greater speed than 30 miles per hour. Two charges were preferred against Ray Winger. The first was for operating a heavy motor vehicle on the Hamilton —Te Kultl main road on May 28 without a heavy traffio dlso affixed and the second for operating a heavy motor vehicle, the mechanical order of which was liable to cause annoyance by the noise. On the first charge the defendant was fined 10s with 10s costs, and on the second, £1 and 10s costs.

Robert Selwyn Wyborn, of Te Aroha, was fined £1 with 10s costs for driving a motor vehicle on the 11am-llton-Raglan road without a license. A charge of overloading a heavy motor vehicle on the Ilamilton-Rotorua main highway \vas preferred against Leslie HJorth. Inspector Metcalfe said Ihe defendant was carrying ono ton greater than the maximum load.
