IMPORTED JERSEYS.
SALE AT AUCKLAND. OPPORTUNITY FOR BREEDERS. An opportunity for Jersey cattle breeders to acquire the cream of America’s sires in the Dominion instead of incurring the heavy expense of importing a sire will be afforded at Auckland to-morrow, when 12 of the foremost bulls of the United States, that have been shipped by Mr Wallace Mac Monies, of New Jersey, will be sold by public auction. The sale is rightly described as the most important event in the history of the Jersey breed in New Zealand. Every bull of the consignment is an outstanding animal and is backed by generations of breeding and by high butterfat records, their impressive show-ring records providing proof of their superlative type. There will be no reserve at the sale and every bull will be guaranteed a breeder. Each bull has been used carefully, none has run with herds and all are reported to be wonderfully vigorous. The consignment includes a grand champion of the National Dairy Show of America and a junior champion of the same show. There can be no gainsaying that breeders in Australia and New Zealand have never before been presented with such an opportunity of improving the blood of their studs by the introduction of the leading blood lines of the Island of Jersey and America. Particulars are available from the auctioneers, Messrs. Wright, Stephenson and Company.
