BELOW STANDARD
HOCKEY IN HAMILTON. COMPETITIONS RESUME. KAIPAKI AND AOTEA WIN. Play In the senior matches of the Hamilton hookey competition for the Klllip memorial Shield did not reach the standard of previous Saturdays, and both senior fixtures were saved from dullness only by the open nature of the play. There was little between Kaipaki and Old Boys and the result was in doubt right up to the closing stages, when the country team scored the only goal of the match. Play was too one-sided to be Interesting in the second senior fixture, Aotea v. Tokomaru, the former winning by five goals to one. The junior competition was also resumed. BY ONE GOAL-LAST-MINUTE VICTORY. WIN FOR KAIPAKI. A goal In the last few minutes of the match gave Kaipaki a narrow victory over Old Boys on Saturday after a game that was open but lacking in Combined movements. Old Boys went near to equalising in the closing stages, but the final whistle sounded
