The belief prevails in banking ciroles that Pan-American Airways are one of the principal backers of the Australian inter-capital scheme, "in order to provide a domestic link-up with the Paoiflo service.” The Australian Associated Press learns that similar rumours have been current In aviation oircles on the Pacific coast for some time. The principal officials of Pan-Ameri-can Airways refuse to comment, but the New York office said it was without confirmation. The National City Bank categorioally denied any connection, financial or otherwise, with the enterprise. AN EMPHATIC DENIAL. AMERICA NOT INTERESTED. "IT IS UNTHINKABLE.” United Pres; Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright. (Received Aug. 7, 3 p.m.) MONTREAL, Aug. 6. Pan -American Airlines emphatically deny any connection with the Australian proposal. The head office of the Bank of America at San Francisco stated: "It is unthinkable that we are interested in the Australian line.” The Douglas Corporation at Los Angeles slated that it had never heard of any projected American-Australian line.
