GOLF BALL.

EIGHTH ANNUAL FUNCTION. N G ARUAWAHIA CLUB SUCCESS. A striking scheme of decoration was carried out in the Ngaruawahia Town Hall on Thursday evening, when the members of the Ngaruawahia Golf Club held their eighth annual ball. From the centre of the hall was suspended a large hoop, streamers of maroon and gold (the club colours) cascading from It and forming a canopy over the entire floor. Round the walls were artistically arranged nikau fronds with clusters of balloons hanging at Intervals. The stage was a myriad of fairy lights twinkling in and around bowers of the nikau ferns. The supper-room was arranged with maroon and gold streamers and fernery, while on the tables were bowls and vases of Iceland poppies and other spring flowers. The hall was thronged with dancers and the committee Is to be congratulated upon the excellent manner in which the evening passed. The Regent Dance Band from Hamilton played excellent music, and the M’s.C. were Messrs K. M. Wright, D. R. Welch, W. McGruer and B. Collings. The ladies of the committee present were:—Mesdames K. M. Wright, wearing duchess blue taffetas and lace; A. J. Garry, Margaret Rose silk cloque and fur wrap; W. McGruer, black slipper satin and silver relief; L. Dwen, ivory satin; and Miss Betty Jackson, kingfisher blue cloque with faggo’ted yoke.
